We expect election soon, after meeting with BNP Noor

BNP and Gana Odhikar Parishad are hoping that the interim government will soon create an environment for free and fair elections and hand over power to the elected government.

Nurul Haque Noor, former VP of Dakso and president of Gana Odhikar Parishad, said this after the meeting of the Liaison Committee of Gana Odhikar Parishad with BNP leaders on Monday afternoon.

BNP Standing Committee members Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku and Vice Chairman Barkat Ullah Bulu were present at the meeting held at the BNP Chairperson's political office in Gulshan in the capital. And the party's president Nurul Haque Noor, general secretary Rashed Khan, senior council members Abu Hanif, Shahidul Islam Fahim, Fatema Tasneem, joint general secretary Hasan Al Mamun, human rights secretary Khalid Hasan were on behalf of the People's Rights Council.

In the meeting, they discussed the issue of the removal of the President, the government's reform program, the formation of the Election Commission and the upcoming elections. Apart from this, in the current situation, the activities of some political parties come up for discussion.

After the meeting, Nurul Haque Noor said, 'Those of us who have protested together with BNP, we want to work in coordination for the development of Bangladesh until the next government is formed.'

Noor said, 'New new theories are being created. We will not accept that some people will say whatever they want because they were at the front of the mass uprising. After August 5, there was a free opportunity to form a revolutionary government, but the students could not take advantage of that opportunity. Even in 3 months of the formation of the interim government, 3 thousand criminals involved in the genocide were not arrested. We want Awami League and its allies to be banned as a political party involved in genocide through law. Steps should be taken to prevent them from participating in elections in the future.'
