The minister said that political workers in the country have suffered the most human rights violations. Asaduzzaman said, the law is being scrutinized so that there is no conflict between the International Criminal Tribunal Act and the Human Rights Commission Act.
He said that the way the Missing Commission Ordinance was framed during the interim government, criminals would have benefited more. We are trying to make it more timely.
He said that the way the Human Rights Commission Act and the Prevention of Disappearance Act have been done, injustice will be done to the victims of disappearances. Because we have simultaneously included the definition of disappearance in the International Criminal Tribunal Act of 1973. There will be trial and investigation.
He said, National Human Rights Commission and want to make an effective law on disappearances. National Human Rights Commission should not become a toothless institution, we want to make contemporary and welfare-oriented laws.
He also said that the new generation is very talented. They have to be placed in the right place. We have destroyed one institution after another.
Member of Parliament Tahsina Rushdi Luna said, “My husband, former MP Ilyas Ali, disappeared in 2012 with the direct help of the state.” Many more people went missing after that.
He said that after the political change on August 5, 2024, I did not get any new information about the disappearance. Disappearance from the country should be banned forever.
