HYDRA Controversy: A statement by Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has become a cause of political controversy. Revanth Reddy made such a claim regarding the name of Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA), to which BJP and BRS reacted sharply. The BJP has called the Chief Minister’s statement an example of Congress’s “Hitler and Emergency mentality” and demanded an apology from him.
Statement given in Bengaluru program
During a conversation at an event organized in Bengaluru on Saturday, Revanth Reddy claimed that he was inspired by the name HYDRAA and its concept. Reddy said that “Hydra” was Hitler’s favorite word and his main team was also called Hydra, which could kill anyone. He said that inspired by this he named the agency HYDRAA.
However, historical experts have raised questions on this claim. Experts say that there is no historical evidence available that any of Hitler’s team was called “Hydra”. He says that the word “Hydra” has been associated with a military operation of the British Royal Air Force during World War II.
BJP targeted Congress
After Revanth Reddy’s statement, BJP intensified its attack on Congress and Telangana government. BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala said that Congress’s dangerous “Hitler and Emergency mentality” has once again come to the fore. He wrote on social media platform X that Revanth Reddy is openly saying that he got the inspiration to create HYDRAA from Hitler. This reflects the dictatorial thinking of Congress. He said that from the time of Emergency till today, Congress has been working to suppress the voice of the people.
Union Minister Mr. Kishan Reddy also criticized
Union Minister Mr. Kishan Reddy also reacted sharply to the statement of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. While sharing the video of Revanth Reddy, he wrote on X that the dangerous “Hitler and Emergency mentality” of Congress has again come to the fore. He alleged that Revanth Reddy is comparing the action taken in Hyderabad with the devastation in conflict-torn areas like Iran and Israel, which matches the language of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. Kishan Reddy said that from Emergency to Hitler, Congress has always been doing politics of suppressing the voice of the people. He demanded the Chief Minister to tender an unconditional apology to the people of Telangana.
