Berger Award for Interior Design was organized for the second time


Berger Award for Interior Design (BAID) was organized for the second time under the initiative of Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited. Last Thursday (June 25) the prize distribution ceremony was organized at the Grand Ballroom of Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden. Established to recognize and celebrate extraordinary talent in interior design, this platform honors the creative personalities who are reshaping our interior space through their ideas and designs.

A total of 208 projects were submitted in BAID 2025 – Professional and Amateur – these two categories. A total of seven projects were awarded in this year’s event.

The four projects awarded in the professional category are—Makeovers by Anmon (Architect Nazifa Tabassum and Architect Azreen Alam), Kavita Kunj (Architect Zubair Hasan and Architect Tahmida Afroz), Soul (Architect Utshi Zaman) and Ajo Idea Space, Gulshan (Architect Md Rabiul Islam). Bir Chattla (Sangita Chowdhury) was awarded in the amateur category. Besides, in the professional category, Jatra Bangladesh (Architect Sarawat Iqbal and Architect Manan-Bin Yunus) and Chei Blue (Architect Rahat Ibn Hasan, Architect Bin Saeed Bakhti and Architect Rakib Ahmed Sarkar) projects were given commendation awards.

Legendary architect and ‘Master of Masters’ famous architect Shamsul Wares, Managing Director of Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited Rupali Haque Chowdhury and Chief Operating Officer and Director Md. Mohsin Habib Chowdhury and other senior officials of Berger Paints Bangladesh. Also present at the event were BAID 2025 Advisor Architect Jalal Ahmed, Jury Chair Architect Ehsan Khan, Institute of Architects Bangladesh (IAB) President Architect Prof. Abu Saeed M. Ahmed and Chief Architect of Directorate of Architecture Md. Asifur Rahman Bhuiyan. Jury panel members Architect Bayezid Mahbub Khandkar, Artist Dhali Al Mamun, Architect Tania Karim and Architect Mohammad Emran Hossain were also present on the occasion. Apart from this, famous architects and interior designers of the country also participated in the event.

The Berger Award for Interior Design is a platform that honors creative professionals who add colour, form and meaning to our surroundings through their work.’

In his speech, architect professor Shamsul Wares said, ‘Decade after decade, I have witnessed the development of this profession, the struggle and the path of gradually creating its own position. Today’s event is a shining testament to how far our interior design community has come. BAID is not just an award; It is a mirror that holds up and shows a whole generation of designers a new horizon of possibilities—what extraordinary creations are possible when discipline meets imagination.’
