Future Manchester United coach Ruben Amorim faces Pep Guardiola ahead of the Manchester derby. His current club Sporting Lisbon will play against City in the Champions League on Tuesday. Earlier, the coach of the Portuguese champion praised the Spanish coach.
Amorim is going to take charge of Man U next week. He is going to get a taste of the fight against Guardiola in the penultimate match with Lisbon.
'(City have) the best team in the world and the best coach in the world,' Amorim told Sport TV on Monday.
City won 5-0 over two legs against Sporting in the 2022 Champions League last 16. Amorim said that although he has improved as a coach since then, there is still a difference between him and Guardiola.
His words, 'I think, now I am a better coach than before. Unfortunately I feel Pep Guardiola has become a better coach, so there is a gap. Pep Guardiola has been an inspiration to many of our coaches and others.'
Manchester United sacked Eric ten Haag a week ago. After parting with him, they drew in the first match. Manchester club is currently in the 13th place in the Premier League table. Now wait to see if the 39-year-old new coach can return the golden days of the club!
