Young men


Young people are one of the driving forces of the country's strength and development. Their participation and opinion can accelerate the sustainable development of the country. Young people have identified education, employment, freedom of speech and climate change as the main priority. They emphasized on taking effective steps to ensure development in these cases and presented recommendations to address the challenges.

The issues came up at a meeting titled 'National SDG Report (VNR) 2021: Youth Bhavana' organized by the Center for Policy Dialogue (CPD) at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center in Agargaon on Monday. The youth representatives urged the youth's views and recommendations to the third National VNR report. The meeting was conducted by the convener of the Citizen Platform Bangladesh and Special Fellow of the CPD. Devpriya Bhattacharya. CPD Research Associate Sawroza Talukder presented the keynote paper.

Mostafizur Rahman, Special Fellow of the CPD, said that the minimum wage implementation is necessary to ensure Shobhan employment. At the same time, coordination of existing multipurpose education system in the country is needed to ensure quality education. He added, 'VNR is a product and what we discuss here is a process. The product is good only when the process is properly managed. In the implementation of SDGs, it is important to adopt more effective policies in employment, education, freedom of speech and climate issues. '

Mostafizur Rahman also mentioned that Bangladesh is in the process of preparing the third self -motivated National Review (VNR). The government's initiative will collect views of different partners as part of the VNR preparation, which will be reflected in the final report.

At the meeting, the negotiators said that it is very important to ensure the participation of young people in the implementation of SDGs and the preparation of the VNR. Youth's attitude and advice can be helpful for policy makers. In the discussion for this purpose, young people gave their views through party work, which will be included in the final report.
