Acting Chairman of BNP Tarek Rahman said, the conspiracy against the country has not stopped. Conspiracy cannot be stopped if democracy cannot be brought back. Voting rights must be guaranteed to prevent conspiracies.
He said these things in a virtual speech at the opening and discussion meeting of the training program of Krishak Dal at Kakrail Diploma Engineer Institute in the capital on Saturday (November 9) afternoon.
In the event, the Acting Chairman of BNP announced farmers' rally in every union for the next three months from Sunday (November 10). Tariq Rahman highlighted various plans for agricultural work and welfare of farmers.
He said that the farmers' party should be made dependent on the farmers. Farmers' problems should be heard in farmers' assembly. Then find a way to solve that problem. BNP will try to solve the problems of farmers if it comes to power.
Tariq Rahman said that Ziaur Rahman's canal digging program will be started again. There are many places in the country where farmers do not get the necessary water. Crop production is hampered. Shahid Zia provided water by digging a canal. Where there was one crop there were two because of the water, three crops instead of two.
He also said that a large part of women in Bangladesh is involved in agriculture. So attention should be paid to agriculture. We have tried every time to look into agricultural problems. Agricultural loans up to 5 thousand were waived off during Khaleda Zia's tenure. The government used to bear the electricity bill during the harvest season. Through which some problems of farmers have been solved.
Stating that the problem of farmers' seeds could not be solved, the Acting Chairman of BNP said, “There are times when crops are destroyed, that's why we have thought about agricultural insurance.” Many times they take loans from moneylenders, which puts pressure on farmers, if we can do it from there then this problem will not be there anymore.
In order to produce food for 20 million people, importance should be given to agriculture, Tariq Rahman said, importing food for so many people is not possible. Therefore, the basic food must be produced in the country. That's why we have to think how to increase agricultural land. There are steps that can be taken to increase the agricultural land, this is only possible if the power comes.
