Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Mia Ghulam Parwar pointed to the Prime Minister and said, “If you do not help improve the quality of life of the people without withdrawing this increase in the price of oil and electricity, you will have to face the challenge of people’s anger.”
He said these things in the speech of the chief guest at a protest rally against the gradual increase in the price of fuel, oil and electricity at the north gate of Baitul Mukarram in Paltan of the capital on Thursday afternoon.
Addressing the government, Mia Golam Parwar said, ‘Stop this futile journey. Withdraw the electricity price hike immediately. He gave relief in people’s lives. If that is not the case, it is not necessary to tell the people of Bangladesh about the consequences of tyrannical partisanship. You will see the lesson only by looking back.’
This Jamaat leader said, ‘We (Jamaat-e-Islami) will help the government in all its good works if it makes efforts. I will play the role of constructive responsible opposition party. But we will strongly protest against public interest, injustice, lawlessness and injustice.
At the end of the event, they took a protest march from Baitul Mukarram to Paltan, Vijayanagar and Shantinagar and came back to Paltan.
