NCP claims legal basis in implementing the July Charter

The National Citizens Party (NCP) has demanded a legal basis for the implementation of the proposed July Charter of the National consensus commission. Member Secretary of the party Akhtar Hossain said, “We fear that if these reforms are not implemented from now and it is vested on any other government in the future, then there will be various uncertainty and crisis.”

He told reporters on Thursday (July 7th) after closing the second phase of dialogue with the National consensus commission.

Akhtar Hossain said, “We have participated in the consensus commission for a long time. There has been a unanimous consensus on several issues, and the Commission has decided on some issues with the note of dissent. So far, the Commission has not discussed in detail the implementation process. '

He said that the Commission that the Commission had given to the political parties in July, mentioned that the reforms would be implemented within two years after the formation of the new parliament.

Regarding the implementation of the July Charter within two years, Akhtar Hossain said, “Uncertainty over the implementation of the July Charter after the long discussion of the anti -fascist political forces of Bangladesh and the implementation of the Citizens is not acceptable.”

Akhtar Hossain said, “We want the interim government to start implementing the July Charter and to form a clear legal basis for it.” He added that the Commission has assured that the political parties will talk to the political parties will find a way to implement, but there is still some ambiguity in the matter.
