BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, 'Let no one unjustly touch our country. Can't divide the country. For that we must always be alert.'
He said these things in his speech as the chief guest at the public meeting for building equality, harmony and humane Bangladesh at the Sakoa High School grounds of Boda Upazila of Panchagarh on Sunday (December 22) afternoon.
Mirza Fakhrul said, “Sheikh Hasina is conspiring and plotting by running away to the other side. Sheikh Hasina is running a false campaign. Hindus are being oppressed in this country. We people of this region are peace loving. Hindus-Muslims-Buddhists-Christians all live together here. Our people have guarded the temple here during the puja. They want to endanger us by spreading false propaganda. We have to stand up to them.'
He also said, 'Some say seventy-one will be forgotten. We cannot forget seventy one. An independent country was born in 1971. I got to know myself in seventy one. We have created a territory for ourselves. For almost 15 years we fought against a terrible fascist monster government. We went to jail again and again. There are also many people who have gone to jail. He was on the run, could not stay at home. A reign of fear was established across the country.'
BNP Secretary General said, 'Fascism is when a government comes to power in the name of elections and creates a reign of terror, murders and disappearances. Either way he wants to stay in power. Hasina did that. He fooled the people and stayed in power by forcing three elections. He thought he would never be out of power. The leader who said I am Mujib's daughter – I don't run away, has fled with her life leaving her leaders and workers in danger. This is the result of fascism.'
Fakhrul said, 'those who loot should be removed. We should make arrangements so that no one wrongfully touches our country. No one else has done the torture that Awami League has done to us. The clerics were hanged. Our politicians have been captured. jailed In this way, one should be careful so that no one can do injustice again. No one can divide the country now. We are all one. We are all Bangladeshis. We all want the development of Bangladesh. This is how we have to work.
“I want to call on all the government officials, army, police, BGB, let's make use of this opportunity that we have got. Again we forget all differences and build Bangladesh unitedly. Build a country of peace, a country of love, a country of progress. Let us be vigilant so that no one can break the jackal on our heads.'
In the meeting organized by Boda and Debiganj Upazila BNP and its affiliates and affiliates, among others BNP Rangpur Divisional Organizing Secretary Asadul Habib Dulu, Associate Organizing Secretary Aminul Islam, Abdul Khalek, BNP Chairperson Advisory Council member Baby Nazneen, BNP Leader Ishrak Hossain, Central BNP Rural Development Affairs Secretary and District Member Secretary Farhad Hossain Azad, International Affairs Secretary Barrister Naushad Zamir and party leaders were present.
