Apple has been preparing its definitive assault on the smart home for years. Although the company already has products such as HomePod, Apple TV or the HomeKit platform, the truth is that until now it has not had a central device with a screen that directly competes with proposals such as the Amazon Echo Show or the Google Nest Hub.
But that could soon change. This is not the first time we have talked about this long-awaited smart speaker with Apple screen, which will take the best of the HomePod by adding a screen.

The latest leaks suggest that Apple will launch its first smart speaker with a screen at the end of 2026. And everything indicates that it will arrive in autumn And according to a well-known leaker who has published on X (former Twitter), sIt would be presented between September and December of this year, coinciding with the company’s most intense launch season.
It would not be strange to see it next to new iPhone, MacBook or iPad, since Apple usually takes advantage of that period to show its most important products. The objective of the firm? Create a smart home control center that combines the best of an iPad and a HomePod.
The objective is that any member of the family can interact with the connected home from a single point, whether to control lights, cameras or thermostats, but also to consult information, listen to music or make video calls.
One of the most commented elements is its screen. The leaks point to a square panel of around seven inches that would serve to display information at a glance, such as the weather, reminders or calendar events.
It would also allow you to view security cameras, respond to FaceTime calls or manage devices compatible with HomeKit and the Matter standard. Of course, forget about an iPad, since it will be a lower quality panel and a much more limited function.
Regarding its design, it would also be quite particular, since Apple would be working on two different versions of the device. One of them would be designed to be placed on a table or countertop and would include a base with a speaker similar to the HomePod mini.. The other version could be installed directly on the wall, functioning as a permanent control panel for home automation.
Inside, quite powerful hardware is expected for a smart speaker. Some rumors suggest that it will use a chip from the A18 family, since this HomePod with a screen will be compatible with Apple Intelligence.
