Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has called a board meeting at 3.30 pm on Wednesday, where a decision will be taken on several issues. This is known from BCB related sources.
Before the start of the Chittagong Test, there was a sudden news that Nazmul Hossain sent a letter to BCB saying that Shanta will no longer be the captain. Although nothing is known from BCB about this, it will be discussed in detail in Wednesday's meeting. Whether Shanta will remain the captain or he will be reduced in responsibilities, everything will be known tomorrow.
Apart from the quiet issue, the board meeting will discuss a letter from the National Sports Council. A letter signed by Jatiya Krira Parishad Secretary Aminul Islam was sent to Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury Sujan. The National Sports Council has asked the BCB which directors were absent in three consecutive meetings. A decision is to be taken in this regard in the meeting. The posts of those who were not present may be declared vacant.
Apart from this, Shakib Al Hasan's chance to play in the upcoming Afghanistan series will also be discussed in the meeting. The left-handed all-rounder could not play against South Africa in Mirpur due to security concerns. Now there is confusion about whether Shakib will play against the Afghans outside the country. A decision will be taken in this regard in tomorrow's meeting.
