Some processes are underway to take BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia out of the country for treatment. Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, a member of the party's standing committee, said that he will leave the country only after these processes are completed.
This is what he told reporters at the party chairperson's office in Gulshan today. When asked about Khaleda Zia going abroad, Amir Khosru said, 'Madam (Khaleda Zia) is going abroad. But more work remains to be done. There are processes to go, those works are in progress. He will go only when that work is done.'
When asked when Khaleda Zia will be taken out of the country, she said, 'It cannot be said. If the process is completed in two-three days, then go in two-three days. After a week go after a week if the process is over. We hope it won't be too long.'
79-year-old former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia is suffering from various diseases including liver cirrhosis, heart disease, lung, arthritis, kidney, diabetes, eye problems.
According to party sources, Khaleda Zia will be taken to London, United Kingdom first by long distance specialized air ambulance. From there he can go to USA or Germany for treatment.
