Wanting to stop postal voting is ominous: Asif Mahmood

Jatiya Nagrik Party (NCP) Spokesperson and Central Election Management Committee Chairman Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan commented that it is dangerous to want to stop the voting system through postal ballot. He made this comment at a press conference at the election office of the party in Jigatla of the capital on Friday night.

Asif Mahmud said, ‘We have seen that many people are saying that postal ballot should be stopped. We think this is a kind of ominous sign.’

This leader of NCP said that NCP has long fought for the voting rights of expatriates. Spoke to the Reforms Commission. In view of that, the process of voting through postal ballot has started for the expatriates.

Asif said, ‘We have about one to one and a half million expatriates. All of them are keeping the country, the country’s economy strong with remittances. NCP will work to ensure that they can vote. But it is really disappointing to hear such words from the so-called democratic parties who claim themselves.’
