A soldier resident of Bithi of Kapkot was martyred in an encounter with terrorists in Kishtwar, Jammu and Kashmir. His mortal remains will be brought to Kapkot on Tuesday i.e. today. The people of the area are proud of the soldier who sacrificed his life for the security of the country, but they are also saddened by his demise.
Gajendra Singh Gadhiya (43) was posted in two-para commando. On Sunday, he was part of Operation Trashi, a joint operation being conducted to search for terrorists in Kishtwar. During the search operation in remote Singhpora of Chatru area, terrorists attacked the security forces with a grenade. Havildar Gajendra was martyred in this attack. He is survived by his father Dhan Singh Gadhiya, mother Chandra Devi Gadhiya, wife Leela Gadhiya and two children Rahul Gadhiya and Dheeraj Gadhiya. His younger brother is Kishore Gadhiya.
According to the information received from the family members, the dead body of the soldier will be brought to Kedareshwar ground on Tuesday through helicopter. He will be cremated with military honors at the confluence of Saryu-Kheerganga river.
