Security forces are conducting a special operation at a joint hideout of the Kuki-Chin National Army (KNA) and the United People’s Democratic Front (UPDF) in the remote Retlang area of Bandarban.
This information was given in a press release sent by the Directorate of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Thursday (July 2) night.
According to the notification, on June 28, an operation team of the security forces conducted a special operation in a joint hideout of the Kuki-Chin National Army (KNA) and the United People’s Democratic Front (UPDF-root) in the remote Retlang area under Bandarban region.
Sensing the presence of security forces, the terrorists managed to escape from the hideout. Meanwhile, there was a shooting incident between the two sides. The operation is currently underway in the surrounding area.
ISPR said that it is not possible to release more information at this time for the sake of operational security. Details will be given in due course subject to the completion of the campaign.
