Two motorcycle riding friends were killed after being hit by a shallow engine driven freight trolley in Muladi upazila of Barisal. The accident took place in Badamtala area of Kazirchar Union Circle Commissioner on Muladi-Barisal highway on Saturday evening.
The deceased are Humayun Kabir (40) son of Razzak Matubbar of Guabaria village of nearby Hijla upazila and Kamal Molla (40) son of Tajul Master of the same area. They are two friends. Among them Humayun used to work in private organization 'Asha' in Barisal.
Before this last Friday around 5:50 in the afternoon in Muladi upazila in Payadarhat-adjacent area in a road accident. Farhad Hossain (53), a Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Education was killed. He was on duty as Deputy Secretary of Secondary and Higher Education Department (Private University-1) of the Ministry of Education. Farhad's village home is in Char Lakshmipur area of Muladi Sadar Union. He is the son of late Maulana Abdul Quader of that area. He was on his way to Muladi Sadar as a passenger in a Mahindra (three-wheeler) from Mirganj Ferry Ghat on Friday afternoon. As the Mahindra crossed Payadarhat and neared Howladar Bridge, a dog suddenly fell in front of it. At that time, the driver suddenly pressed the brakes and the vehicle lost control and overturned. The vehicle overturned on the driver's side where the Deputy Secretary was sitting. The Deputy Secretary suffered a serious head injury. He was rescued and taken to a local hospital where doctors declared him dead.
