Three initiatives of Huawei to develop the ICT sector in Bangladesh


Huawei has taken three new initiatives jointly with Dhaka University, digital economy sector stakeholders and ICT department to develop Bangladesh's ICT sector.

The initiatives were announced at the inauguration ceremony of Huawei's new office in Gulshan, Dhaka on Thursday (December 12).

Inspired by the motto 'In Bangladesh, For Bangladesh', the new initiatives that Huawei has brought have given importance to the intellectual development of the country. The first initiative is to provide necessary furniture and equipment to Dhaka University, so that intelligent classrooms can be introduced there.

The second initiative is to set up a joint innovation lab with the ICT division. Besides, as a third initiative, the initiation of 'China-Bangladesh Fintech Exchange Program' for professionals, experts, researchers and teachers of the country's economic sector.

Pan Junfeng, President of Huawei South Asia and CEO of Huawei Bangladesh gave a welcome speech at the event. China's ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen, the governor of Bangladesh Bank was present. Ahsan H. Mansoor, Chairman of Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) Major General Md. Emdad Ul Bari, ICT Department Secretary Sheesh Haider Chowdhury, Social Welfare Ministry Secretary Dr. Md. Mohiuddin and Dhaka University Treasurer Professor M Jahangir Alam Chowdhury.
