BNP standing committee member former minister. Abdul Moin Khan said, BNP is not demanding fair and impartial elections for themselves. 15 years for those who were disenfranchised.
Moin Khan said these things at the commemoration and doa mahfil on the occasion of the 40th death anniversary of former food minister and founding member of BNP Abdul Momen Khan at Palash Upazila Auditorium in Narsingdi on Thursday afternoon.
This leader of BNP said that BNP is not demanding fair and impartial elections for themselves. Many misinterpret it. The BNP calls for fair and impartial elections to give back their voting rights to the younger generation, who were disenfranchised during the last 15 years of dictatorship.
Dr. Moin Khan said, 'We do politics for the people, that's why we believe in the people's vote. The person elected by the people through fair and impartial elections will be the true representative of the people. Parliament cannot be formed by holding elections with dummy, fake MPs, polling during the day at night, forcibly robbing the ballot boxes.'
Moin Khan also said, if the dictators think that they will come back to power and establish a dictatorship, then they are living in a fool's paradise. The power of the students in this country has no power to make them come back.
In July-August, the boys of Narsingdi made a place in the history of Bangladesh and the world. Again if anyone wants to harm the country they will be resisted. But for that everyone like BNP has to believe in people's right to vote. So those who are currently in charge should quickly arrange elections after the necessary reforms, where the polls will be held during the day and not at night.
Earlier, Oxford University's post-doctoral researcher and Moin Khan's daughter Dr. Mahreen Khan Moin Khan's wife and chairperson of Millennium University Roksana Khandkar presided over the commemoration meeting, Palash Upazila BNP and allied organization leaders were present.
