Hasan Nasir said, 'Many of those who were taken to jail were innocent. Many of them were proved innocent even in mock trials. But they are in jail. …the officers-corpses, including the then-captain, of the 44th Rifle Battalion, who mutinied, whose failure resulted in the massacre, who planned it, should be brought to justice.'
Lieutenant Colonel (Retd.) Hasinur Rahman Bir Prateek said in the rally that Sheikh Hasina herself was involved in the BDR murder. Ministers and parliament members around him were also involved. The current Home Affairs Minister has to issue a notification of an impartial commission of inquiry without bureaucrats on an urgent basis. A commission should be formed with human rights activists, army officers, journalists and student representatives. The investigation should be open, not hidden.
Hasinur Rahman also said that the name of BGB should be changed and the previous name should be taken back to BDR.
Lt. Col. (retd.) Ferdous Aziz said that the commission of inquiry into the killing of BDR should be constituted as soon as possible. There will be no more arguments with this committee.
