South Africa's batting coach resigns, takes big decision before series against Pakistan

New Delhi. The South African team is currently playing a test series against Sri Lanka. Meanwhile, JP Duminy has resigned from the post of batting coach of South Africa's limited overs team citing personal reasons. Cricket South Africa (CSA) announced this on Friday. Duminy took over this post in March last year.

CSA said that he has left his post with immediate effect after mutual consent. “South African cricket legend JP Duminy has been a key member of the limited-overs coaching staff since his appointment in March 2023,” CSA said in a post on Twitter. A new batting coach will be appointed in his place soon.”

Duminy has played 46 Tests, 199 ODIs and 81 T20 International matches for South Africa in a career spanning 15 years between 2004 and 2019. South Africa will play three T20 and three ODI matches against Pakistan from December 10 to 22, after which both the teams will participate in a two-Test series starting from Boxing Day. Before the white ball series, South Africa will have to find a new batting coach.
