Onion prices on the rise again, vegetables 'cheaper'


Due to the increase in the supply of fresh desi onions in the market, the prices came down a lot. But within a week, the price of the product started to rise. Compared to last week, the price of onion has increased by Tk 5 to Tk 10 per kg. The price of imported ginger and garlic has also increased by Tk 20 per kg. Apart from this, there is no relief in the chicken market which has increased on the pretext of 'thirty first night'. However, prices of various winter vegetables including potatoes are within reach. Some vegetables, especially cauliflower, are 'getting cheap', said the sellers.

Although the price of potato has decreased, the price of onion, Chinese ginger and garlic has increased

Today, the prices of all types of new potatoes have fallen in the market. At the same time, the prices of all types of onions and Chinese ginger-garlic have increased. Fresh desi onion is selling at Rs 60 per kg and Indian onion is selling at Rs 65 per kg. Besides, new white potatoes are being sold at Tk 45 per kg and new red potatoes at Tk 50 per kg. New Bogra potatoes are being sold at Tk 60 per kg. Besides, desi garlic is selling at Tk 240, China garlic at Tk 240, China ginger at Tk 220, new Indian ginger at Tk 120. However, old potatoes and old desi onions or cross varieties of onions are not available in the market.

Compared to last week, it can be seen that the price of new desi onion has increased by 10 rupees per kg and the price of Indian onion has increased by 5 rupees. The price of new desi white and red potatoes has been reduced by Tk 5 per kg. New Bogra potato prices remain unchanged. Price of Chinese ginger and garlic increased by Tk 20 per kg.

When asked why the price of domestic onion has increased, the seller said. Sharif said, 'Desi onion yield has been good. But due to low prices farmers are losing. So now the price has increased a bit.'

The seller said the reason for the increase in the price of Indian onions. Yusuf said, 'Indian onion import is not happening now as the yield of domestic onion is good. Therefore, the price of Indian onion has increased in the market.

Traders are blaming lower imports as the reason for the rise in China ginger and garlic prices. They said that if the import is less, the price will increase. And the price of these imported products depends a lot on the price of the dollar. When the value of the dollar increases, the price of imported goods also increases.

Relief has returned to the vegetable market

The prices of several vegetables have come down in today's market. Besides, the prices of some vegetables have also increased. Depending on the type, red tomato in the market is Tk 50 to Tk 80, raw tomato Tk 40, country carrot Tk 60, beans Tk 40-60, long eggplant Tk 50, white round eggplant Tk 50, black round eggplant Tk 60, cucumber Tk 60, bitter gourd Tk 80. , Papaya Tk 50, Radish Tk 30, Radish Tk 40, Turnip Tk 40, Radish Tk 80, Patol 80-100 Taka, Chichinga 60 Taka, Dhundal 80 Taka, Shrimp 80 Taka, Barbati 90 Taka, Onion 50 Taka, Onion with tree 60 Taka, Kachur Lathi 80 Taka, Kachurmukhi 100 Taka, Sweet Pumpkin 40 Taka, Green Chilli 80 Taka, Coriander It is being sold at the rate of Tk 60 per kg. The prices of new vegetables have fallen in the market

In this case, compared to last week, the price of sour tomato 20 taka, raw tomato 10 taka, beans 10 taka, white round eggplant 10 taka, black round eggplant 10 taka, radish 10 taka, onion sprouts 10 taka and cilantro has decreased by 40 taka. Apart from this, the price of cauliflower has increased by Tk 15 and cabbage by Tk 10 per piece. Besides, the price of Barab has increased by Tk 10 per kg, and the price of Kachurmukhi has increased by Tk 20. Prices of other vegetables remain unchanged.

Meat market ride

The price of chicken increased ahead of the arrival of the new year. However, even after the new year, relief did not return to the meat market. Still the price of broiler chicken is above Tk 200 per kg. The price of cock chicken is 300 rupees. On the other hand, beef is being sold at Tk 30 more than before.

Today beef is being sold at Tk 750-780 per kg. Beef meat 1 thousand 100 taka. According to weight, broiler chicken is selling at Tk 197-203, cock chicken Tk 335-338, layer chicken Tk 280-300, country chicken is selling at Tk 550 per kg. Red eggs of farm chickens are being sold at Tk 130, white eggs at Tk 130 per dozen.

In this case, it has been seen that the price of broiler chicken has decreased by 3-7 taka per kg, and the price of cock chicken has decreased by 8-12 taka per kg. The price of layer chicken has increased by 20 rupees. Besides, the price of beef has increased by 30 rupees. Beef and country chicken prices remain unchanged. The price of eggs also remains unchanged.

The price of meat is extra

The fish market is also largely unchanged

As always, market prices of food products remain unchanged today. Meanwhile, the price of soybean oil has been increased for almost a month. But this edible oil market is not normal yet.

Vendors complain that they are still not getting soybean oil that way. What they are getting is less than the demand.

Today in the market small lentil 135 taka, thick lentil 110 taka, large mung dal 140 taka, small mung dal 170 taka, kesari dal 110 taka, buter dal 135 taka, mashkalai dal 190 taka, double dal 70 taka, gram 130 taka, packet Polao rice is being sold at Tk 150, open Polao rice at Tk 110-140 per kg depending on the quality. And per liter bottled soybean oil is Tk 175, open soybean oil is Tk 157, packet sugar is Tk 125, open sugar is Tk 125, two kg packet of flour is Tk 150, two kg packet of flour is Tk 115, open mustard oil is being sold at Tk 190 per liter.
