Press wing Facts of the Chief Adviser has said that the information published in the Indian media about the code on the Hindu community in Bangladesh after the overthrow of the Sheikh Hasina government in the mass coup is misleading and exaggerated. All are requested to refrain from giving misleading information about such crimes.
This was said in a post on the verified Facebook page of the Chief Adviser's Press Wing Facts on Friday night. It is said, “India Today, Anandabazar and several Indian media including India Today (yesterday Friday) reported – 47 incidents of violence against Hindus in Bangladesh in 2022, 302 in 2023 and 2,200 in 2024.”
CA Press Wing Facts said, 'The information is misleading and exaggerated. According to the independent human rights organization Law and Arbitration Center, there were 138 incidents of violence against religious minorities in Bangladesh from January to November 2024, in which 368 homes were attacked and 82 people were injured.
It said, 'The Interim Government of Bangladesh is investigating every incident and is committed to bringing the culprits to justice. According to police headquarters, at least 97 cases have been registered between August 4 and December 10 and 75 people have been arrested since August for attacks on religious minorities.
A Facebook post by CA Press Wing Facts also mentioned, 'Most of these incidents took place between August 5 and August 8, when there was no government in the country. Most of these attacks happened for political reasons.
