I am a little disappointed with the speech of the Chief Adviser: Mirza Fakhrul

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said in reference to the Chief Adviser's speech to the nation on Sunday (November 17) on the occasion of the completion of 100 days of the interim government, we are passing through a transitional period. Yesterday (Sunday) on the occasion of the completion of 100 days of the interim government, the Chief Adviser addressed the nation. Many people are hopeful about his statement, but I am a little disappointed. I had hoped that the Chief Counsel sir with all his wisdom would identify the issues and outline the election.

He said these things at a discussion meeting organized by BNP's 'Maulana Bhasani Death Anniversary Commemoration National Committee' on the occasion of 'Maulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhasani's 48th death anniversary' at the National Press Club auditorium on Monday (November 18).

Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, “Why am I talking about elections again and again? Half of my problems will be solved if elections are held.” It is immaterial whether BNP comes to power in the elections there or not. Those who want to harm the country, want to create unstable environment, they will be forced to go back. Because the elected government will have the support of the people. We want reforms, we will do them, but they should be beautiful, acceptable to everyone, proceed in such a way – this is our request.

He said, we are not obstructing the government but supporting it. But how to reform by leaving the friends of the dictatorship sitting in the secretariat? The commodity price syndicate has not been broken yet, people are in turmoil due to rising commodity prices, yet they have accepted you. Organized to break up the syndicates. Governance fixed. Don't need money for any work.

The Secretary General said that distance cannot be created with the students. They are young, such is their enthusiasm. Even when we were young, we thought so. Now there is a change, it has to be understood — what are the boys saying? There are many in BNP who are not willing to say that the boys have fought this fight alone. We fought for 15 years, gave blood but there is one thing, who gave the last kick to score a goal?

Mirza Fakhrul said, you did not suffer less, but you did not stop to get chest. The way Saeed stood to receive the chest is the turning point of the movement. Students are talking a lot. We are old, we know a lot – what can be done, what can't be done.

Addressing the interim government, he said that early elections are good for the country. We have seen, during the period of Fakhruddin-Mainuddin, they wanted to stay in power by forming the King's Party. The current government in power has no mandate, no power. Therefore, he urged to complete the reforms within a reasonable time and organize quick elections. If not, people will think that you are trying to stay in power for a long time, as Fakhruddin-Moinuddin did.

Highlighting Maulana Bhasani's political philosophy, he said, Maulana Bhasani said 'there will be no work except religion in this country, people of this country do not do anything except religion.' So he spoke of Dharma Karma Socialism. His conduct of life was very simple. He lived in a dilapidated house. How can we forget him? He is throughout our existence. He first started fighting against Ayub Khan. The agitation gradually reached its climax and after three days Ayub Khan resigned.

Vice Chairman of BNP Shamsuzzaman Dudu and moderated by SK Sadi, Vice Chairman Nitai Roy Chowdhury, Chairperson's Advisor Habibur Rahman Habib, Joint Secretary General Khairul Kabir Khokon, Abdus Salam Azad, Volunteer Affairs Secretary Mir Sarfat Ali Sapu gave speeches times Chairman of the party Lion Farooq Rahman and others.
