Human language is becoming monotonous under the influence of the chatty: Researchers warning

Artificial intelligence (AI) is having a big impact on language and culture around the world. A German research team has warned that a big language model (LLM), especially like Chatzipit, is changing the daily conversation of people and making it monotonous.

The research team at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development in Germany claims that the use of certain words of AI's preferred words has been more visible in people since the ChatzPT came to market in 2022. The research has not yet been peer-review. However, they say that this tendency can have a negative impact on the diversity of language and culture in the long run.

According to the researchers, words like 'compressing' (realizing), 'boost' (proud), 'swift' (fast), 'meticulus', (thorough or perfect), dealev (deeper search) are being used. Of these, the word Delve is most commonly used. These words are called 'GPT words'. Analyzing 1 lakh 5 thousand 5 academic videos on YouTube and 1 lakh 5 thousand 5 podcasts shows that the use of these words has increased significantly.

Although the research is largely limited to the statistics analysis of these words, researchers have raised the question – 'Is AII creating its own culture that is affecting us?'

Researchers say, “The use of LLM's favorite words in direct conversation in people and people is indicative of that, there may be a deep cognitive process behind it.”

However, they acknowledged how these words are entering into human language, it is not yet clear.

According to researchers, this exchange of people and AIs can have a big impact on the use of language in the future. As a result, a 'closed cultural response cycle' may have to be created at one time. In this cycle, the exchanges of culture between people and machines can be the same at a time.

The research report says, “If the AI systems prioritize certain cultural features, it can quickly erode linguistic and cultural diversity.”

This threat may increase if the future AI models are trained with language information that has already come from other AI affected data. In this, the language of the language can be more tightly established and transformed into a circular process. It is not just the evolution of language, but an 'depressed and dull future', where the type of communication is an AI who has no ability to understand its own.

Researchers say that if the same word or language type is repeatedly used, the risk of breaking (collapse) increases. That is, people's interest in using models may be reduced. Even if people are involved in teaching models, it may not have the diversity of the language.
