German Foreign Minister Annalena Bierbock has pledged Germany's continued support for Ukraine. He said this after arriving in Kiev on a state visit on Monday (November 4). British news agency Reuters reported this.
He said Ukraine needed support to survive the war. Because winter is almost here. Meanwhile, the threat of North Korean military involvement has been linked to continued Russian aggression against civilian infrastructure. As a result, the situation may become more serious.
Bierbock visited Ukraine on the eve of the US election. Everyone doubts whether Trump will support Zelensky if he is elected president. As a result, future aid to Ukraine may depend on the next head of the White House.
“Our humanity and support against Russian brutality continues,” Bierbock said. Because the fight of Ukrainians is not only against this winter, it is a fight for their existence. They are also fighting for the freedom of Europe.'
This is the German foreign minister's eighth visit to Ukraine.
Germany is one of Ukraine's allies among European countries. They continue to cooperate with Kiev in coordination with the US administration.
However, if Donald Trump is elected president by defeating Kamala Harris, the dice may be reversed. The Republican candidate continues to criticize the level of US involvement in the Ukraine-Russia war. He has been claiming that if he gets to the White House, he will stop the war through negotiations as soon as possible.
Bierbock said Berlin has increased emergency aid to Ukraine by about $180 million. This decision was taken as the country's heat and power generation plants were damaged by the Russian invasion.
The German Foreign Minister has also said that the G7 will continue to help Russia until Russia is forced to accept the damage caused by Ukraine.
