The BNP will submit an opinion on Sunday to the National consensus commission on reform. Earlier, the party had questioned some issues of the National Unity Commission's recommendations sent by political parties.
Commenting on the recommendation of the reform commission, the BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, “The democratic character of the state, the ownership of the people is reflected through the elected parliament and the representatives of the public.” But after reviewing the recommendations of the Constitution and the Election system Reform Commission, it is evident that politicians are unacceptable and unprofessional to create opportunities to manage the country. '
The party's secretary general said this at a press conference on Saturday at the BNP chairperson's office in Gulshan in the capital.
At a press conference on the power of the elected, Salahuddin Ahmed, a member of the BNP standing committee, said that what was described in the proposed process and functioning of the NCP, it is seen at all levels, that the unelected people will conduct these activities and have been constitutionally proposed. It can be seen that the elected representative is no longer important. Almost all important functions will be completed by the united representatives of the state, if they are adopted.
Mirza Fakhrul said, “The state of the National Committee is in the state of spreadsheet and the statements of the commission and the statements of the special political parties, so that the question can arise in the public, all the issues are part of a pre-plan, which is difficult to say whether the interests of democracy.”
Mirza Fakhrul also said, “New commissions, including the Constitutional Commission, have been proposed in the recommendation. The jurisdiction of these commissions, the description of the actions, has enough reason to think that the purpose of making the law department and the executive department is as powerless as possible. As a result, a weak and almost ineffective government will be established. '
In a written statement, Mirza Fakhrul said about the spreadsheet sent by the National consensus commission, “It seems a matter of the options that have been asked to tick the homes in the spreadsheet. The issues that could have come into the form of proposals were asked to answer “yes” or “no” in the form of a leading question. Such proposals want to be implemented through the People's Council, say “yes” or “no”. But first the decision has to come to the decision, whether we agree to the proposal of the People's Council. Similarly, whether “referendum”, “People's Council and Legislative Meeting” I want to implement the proposals through the parliament.
The most important issues like the 'proposal' of the constitution are in the recommendation of the Commission, but it is not mentioned in the spreadsheet – the BNP's secretary general. He said, “Although there are 5 proposals in the spreadsheet, the number of recommendations in the original report is about 120. Similarly, the main report of the Election system Reform Commission has highlighted 5 recommendations, but there are only 20 spreadsheets. Most of them are associated with constitution reform. So we think that by attaching our opinion on the main recommendation with spreadsheet, confusion can be avoided. '
“There is no vacation for such unnecessary controversy after the renovation before the renovation, or after the elections,” said the BNP secretary general said that since reform is an ongoing process, reform and election process – both can continue at the same time. A Charter of Reform (Reform Certificate) may be created on the basis of the consensus of the political parties, which will be implemented at a later time.
Mirza Fakhrul said that now the interim government is the main thing to do, to organize a free and neutral national election program on the basis of the consensus and to hand over the responsibility to the elected government. The elected government will complete the desired consensus reforms of the people.
Mirza Fakhrul said that some advisers in the interim government were directly indirectly involved in the process of forming a political party from power. He said that in this process, the symptoms and evidence of the use of the administration are gradually being revealed, which is not pleasant for the country and democracy.
BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman will return to the country at the appropriate time, the party's secretary general said. “We have not yet set a specific day about the return of him (Tareq Rahman),” he said. When we think the perfect time, he will come. '
BNP standing committee members Mirza Abbas, Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku and Selima Rahman were present at the press conference.
