Arab Finance: BP announced the success of drilling operations in the “Fayoum-5” exploratory well, located in the Mamaria area north of Alexandria, to be the last well as part of the drilling campaign consisting of four wells in the West Nile Delta project.
Well drilling operations began on February 14, 2025 using the Valeris DS-12 digger and resulted in the discovery of four possible gas tanks from the Missini era, at a depth of approximately 2,860 meters, with a total sand thickness of 50 meters.
This discovery is also expected to link to the existing land facilities of the West Nile Delta project occupied by BP. The discovery of “Fayoum-5” is the second discovery of BP in the region, after the “King-2” gas well located in the northern King Mariout franchise.
