Announcement of elections at the earliest after 'emergency reforms'

After the emergency reforms, the government will announce the date of the next parliamentary elections as soon as possible. But it will be decided by discussing with all political parties and stakeholders. It is reported that there was no discussion in the advisory council meeting regarding the recent demand of ISKCON ban. At the same time, it has been urged to resolve the differences between the students through discussion.

Environment, Forest and Climate Adviser Syeda Rizwana Hasan and Adviser Mahfuz Alam said these things in a press conference organized at the Foreign Service Academy in the capital on Thursday. Before this, a meeting of the advisory council was held under his chairmanship at the office of the chief adviser at Tejgaon in the capital. A press conference was organized to announce the issue of the meeting. Chief Adviser's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam was also present.

Syeda Rizwana Hasan said that there is a relationship between the reforms and the elections, “The proposal will come from the reform commission, the people will speak. The final reform proposals will be made. We will take the necessary steps accordingly. We have repeatedly said that we will inform the date of the elections as soon as possible after completing the urgent reforms. “

“We have to go to the polls. This is our job. At the same time they (political parties) are being supported on reforms. They are sometimes saying to give a time. We cannot take a position on that time. Because what reform proposals will come?” , the time of the election cannot be said without knowing how much time it will take to reform.

Syeda Rizwana Hasan said that the government has to work under various pressures after assuming responsibility, “Even if the Election Commission was held in January instead of November, I would have faced the same question (pressure from political parties). The Election Commission was not under pressure, but systematically. The demand is not about the formation of the Election Commission. With Election Date and Roadmap.”

Adviser Mahfuz Alam said, “The vision of the government is reform, for which the people of Bangladesh have given their lives. Elections will be held only after the process of reform is visible. It will be decided after discussing with the political parties.”

Mentioning that there have been incidents of attacks on shrines in different parts of the country in the last few days, Mahfuz Alam said, “We are looking closely at the issues. We will take initiatives in a very short time. The government is looking at ensuring that those who have been attacked at shrines get justice. He said that the tension in the country There is a frenzy. We can solve this with all political parties and stake holders. We want everyone's support.”

When asked about the proposal given by the political party to the chief adviser, Mahfuz Alam said, “Our proposal is to sit with the stakeholders to remove the communication gap. We have tried to communicate with the minority and majority religious leaders. We will communicate in the coming days as well, so that the national unity and sovereignty of Bangladesh can be protected.” It can be done. Everyone has given that advice and everyone is sincere. Fascism will not come back if the people of the country are united.”

ISKCON ban was not discussed

In response to a question, Syeda Rizwana Hasan said, “There was no discussion in the government to ban any organization. Many demands can be raised, people can also give many programs in support of the demands.”

He said, “We are not linking the crime of the organization with the crime of the individual. A person has been arrested on the basis of a specific complaint. A legal process is going on in his regard. The court will see whether he is a criminal or not. I saw in the newspaper today that ISKCON said that the person Those arrested have nothing to do with ISKCON.”

The environmental adviser said, “We will establish harmony in the true sense. For this, we will always discuss our misunderstandings and claims. Every crime will be judged. Harmony should not be confused with the trial of crimes. So that the bond of harmony becomes stronger. The government will work for that.”

Mahfuz Alam also said that Chanmoy Krishna Das has been arrested based on clear allegations. However, he did not mention the complaint.

Addressing the students, Syeda Rizwana Hasan said, “People have found a place of trust in them. Nothing should be done with petty disputes which can call into question the fight we have joined to uphold our national interests. The trust and confidence that the nation has in the students. Let it remain intact, let it grow and become stronger. For that, everyone, including the students, discusses with the government.”

Syeda Rizwana Hasan said, “There is no way to take the attack on the coordinators lightly. The coordinators are the way the nation is united on various important issues. Trying to do, awakening their conscience, it must be solved by many. Their security issue It was discussed in the cabinet.”

He said, “The security they need has been discussed. However, no detailed decision has been made in this regard. The government agencies are investigating it.”

Syeda Rizwana Hasan said that the issue of court security across the country was discussed in the advisory council meeting.

He said, “Everyone should be restrained and patient. Maybe your demand is reasonable but if the method of collecting your demand becomes illegal and destructive, in that case you will not be able to fulfill your just demand. Today the Chief Justice has also expressed concern. We will tell everyone, this Refrain from being destructive and defamatory. If there is a complaint against someone, the complaint will be filed. Press conference will be done but no one will benefit from the destructive process.”

Stating that the Ministry of Home Affairs considers it necessary to establish a police station in Suhrawardy Udyan, he said, “We have taken two weeks' time in view of the demands of the Ministry of Home Affairs. We will sit for two weeks and see if this police station is suitable to be established here. Moreover, the Cabinet has been informed about the meetings held by the Ministry of Finance with the World Bank.” The Advising Committee has been informed that the decisions taken there are very positive for Bangladesh.”
