Anil Kumble Not happy with Gautam Gambhir: Former Indian coach Anil Kumble expressed concern over India’s unstable batting, constant changes after Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma and Gautam Gambhir’s strategy. He also questioned the experiment being done with Washington Sundar.

Gambhir again gave chance to Sai Sudarshan at number three

New Delhi. Veteran spinner and former head coach of the Indian team, Anil Kumble is worried about India’s performance at home. He has expressed concern over Team India’s unstable batting order, continuous experimentation after the retirement of stalwarts like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Questions are being raised on head coach Gautam Gambhir regarding India’s declining performance in Test cricket, as the team is on the verge of losing its second home series within a year. Under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma and playing with the team prepared by former coach Rahul Dravid, India won the Champions Trophy and Asia Cup. The Test team selection of Gambhir and chief selector Ajit Agarkar is under question.

In the Kolkata Test, Gambhir surprised everyone by ousting Sai Sudarshan and sending all-rounder Washington Sundar to the third position. In Guwahati, Sudarshan was again included in the playing eleven and Sundar was sent at number 8. Former Indian coach Kumble gave his opinion on Sundar’s batting position after his fighting innings in India’s first innings. Praised his courage under pressure. The spin legend believes that Sundar’s right role is in the top order, where he can be more effective.

Kumble said on JioHotstar after the third day’s play that he told about India’s batting order. He said, “I would like to say about India’s batting that in the last three-four years, four out of the top five batsmen have either retired or are not in the team. Like Virat Kohli has retired, Rohit Sharma, Cheteshwar Pujara, then Rahane (are active), four out of the five and Shubman Gill are also not in this lineup. India missed Shubman the captain, but more than that, he is missed as a batsman. When you don’t have him, you need a stable batsman. The lineup needs to be given opportunities.”

Kumble said that frequent changes in the batting order can also create instability for the players. “Yes, they will do well, there will be bad days too. They just need to support them for six, seven or eight Test matches. But if you look at the last 10-12 Test matches, there have been a lot of changes in the top order. There have been a lot of changes there, which can bring instability for the players as well. It is disappointing to see all this and to see the performance here. The expectation was that the performance would be better. Yes, it is true that the change in the batting order can be quite unsettling for some batsmen. Is.”
