Jamaat-e-Islami's Dhaka Metropolis South Vice Amir Advocate Dr. Helal Uddin said, you (India) were defeated on our border in 1965. To take that revenge, you conspired with Awami League in 1971 to attack Pakistan. We want to say that the faith that existed in 1965 is still alive in the hearts of the people of Bangladesh. So threats will not help.
He said these things at a civic rally organized by Voice of Times in front of the National Press Club on Sunday (December 15) to demand national unity against Indian supremacy by capitalizing on the minority communities and on the occasion of celebrating the Great Victory Day.
Dr. Helal Uddin said, Bangladesh is an independent sovereign state. They (India) set fire to our national flag. Bangladesh High Commission attacked in Agartala. You have not only set fire to the flag, you have set fire to the hearts of 18 crore people of Bangladesh. It will not be good for you.
He said that tomorrow (December 16) the people of Bangladesh will celebrate Victory Day with open mind, free spirit and independence after 18 years. As soon as Awami League came to power, it killed 57 vigilante army officers in the name of BDR rebellion. After that, Jamaat-e-Islami's central leaders were arrested and hanged one by one through judicial killings in the name of law and brutally killed 11 leaders in jail. Awami League stained Shapla Chatwar with blood. Thus India took the initiative to eliminate the opposition forces and establish a Ram kingdom in Bangladesh.
He said that Sheikh Hasina is inciting Indian media. Misinformation is being spread against Bangladesh. We want you to serve true news. We want to be together. No minority has been oppressed in our country. It won't happen, inshallah. Do not spoil the environment of Bangladesh by spreading false propaganda.
BNP executive committee member Abu Nasser. Rahmatullah said, if an unelected government is in power for a long time, there is a possibility of resurgence of fascism. We do not want fascism to rear its head again in Bangladesh.
He also said that one thing is said again and again – India helped us during the war. I disagree with this. India pretended to help the people of Bangladesh for its interests. Even if they do not take over Bangladesh by establishing a puppet government in Bangladesh, they can use Bangladesh as they see fit. That is why they pretended to help us during the liberation war.
President of Voice of Times Mohammad Farukul Islam also spoke at the meeting, Secretary General of Bangladesh Hindu Mahazot Gobind Chandra Pramanik, member secretary of People's Rights Council Farooq Hasan, Secretary General of NDP. Manjur Hossain Isa and others.
