The price of gold has decreased in the country’s market. Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) said that due to the reduction in the price of pure gold in the international market, the new price list of gold has been decided by reducing the price in the domestic market as well.
This decision was taken in an emergency meeting of the Bajus Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring at 9:30 am on Wednesday (March 25).
After the meeting, Bajus said in a notification that the new rates are effective from 10 am today and will remain in force until further notice.
2 lakh 41 thousand 480 taka per load of 22 carat gold at the newly fixed price of bajus. The price of 21 carat gold has been fixed at Tk 2 lakh 30 thousand 497 per lot and the price of 18 carat gold has been fixed at Tk 1 lakh 97 thousand 525 per lot. Apart from this, the traditional method gold price is 1 lakh 60 thousand 875 taka per load.
On the other hand, the price of silver has been set at 5 thousand 365 taka per 22 carat, 5 thousand 132 taka per 21 carat and 4 thousand 432 taka per 18 carat silver. Traditional silver price is 3 thousand 325 taka per load.
According to Bajus, 5 percent VAT will be added to this price set by the government and will be applicable to all jewelery establishments.
