Jamaat-e-Islami Naib Amir Professor Mujibur Rahman said that compromise cannot be talked about before judging and punishing Awami League. He said these things at the round table meeting organized by Bangladesh Nezam Islam Party at Tafazzal Hossain Manik Mia Hall of National Press Club on Tuesday (December 17).
Mujibur Rahman said, 'Awami League is not only a group of thieves, they are a group of robbers and murderers. They seized the wealth and smuggled it abroad. So there should be no compromise on them.'
He said, 'Independence of 1971 was subjugation, it must be accepted. We got independence on August 5, 2024.'
Adviser to BNP Chairperson Advocate Moazzem Hossain Alal said in the meeting, 'Awami League is used to changing its character with its name. First it was born under the name of Awami Muslim League, after a few days it was cut off by Muslims and became just Awami League. After that, Awami League did Bakshal by excluding Muslims. Awami League after a few days. People who change their name four times since birth will also change their character frequently. There can be no compromise with them.'
He said, 'Awami League must apologize to the people. Repentance must be expressed first. So far they have not said for once that we are apologizing to the nation. Inspector General of Police, DG of RAB, Chief of BGB, Army are apologizing to the nation. But a political party whose base is the common people, no leader of the Awami League has said till date that we apologize to the nation for the killings.'
AB Party member secretary Mojibur Rahman Manju said, 'India helped Bangladesh in the liberation war and they had an interest. India helped us to break Pakistan. That does not mean that we will leave their allegiance and obey you.'
Bangladesh Nezam Islam Party Amir Allama Sarwar Kamal Aziji was also present in the meeting – Secretary General of Muslim League Kazi Abul Khair, Secretary General of Khilafat Majlis Dr. Ahmad Abdul Quader, Vice President of Jamiat Ulamae Islam Bangladesh Maulana Abdur Rab Yousufi and others.
