1. There was a decline in gold and silver this week: Gold fell by Rs 341 to Rs 75,623, silver was being sold at Rs 89,963 per kg.

This week there has been a decline in the prices of gold and silver. According to the website of India Bullion and Jewelers Association (IBJA), on last Saturday i.e. October 5, gold was at Rs 75,964, which has now come down to Rs 75,623 per 10 grams (October 12). That means its price has decreased by Rs 341 this week.

Whereas, if we talk about silver, it was at Rs 92,200 last Saturday, which has now come down to Rs 89,963 per kg. This week its price has decreased by Rs 2,237. This year, silver had reached its all-time high of Rs 94,280 per share on May 29.

2. HAL gets 'Maharatna' status: Hindustan Aeronautics Limited becomes the 14th company of India to achieve this status.

The Government of India has given 'Maharatna' status to PSU company Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). With this, HAL has become the 14th company in India to achieve 'Maharatna' status. The Department of Public Enterprises gave this information by sharing a post on social media platform X.

DPE said that Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has approved the upgrade of Indian PSU company HAL to the 14th Maharatna CPSE. This proposal was earlier recommended by the Inter Ministerial Committee (IMC) headed by the Finance Secretary and the Apex Committee headed by the Cabinet Secretary.

3. DMart's profit increased by 5.77% in July-September quarter: Revenue increased by 14.4% to ₹ 14,444 crore, stock gave 18% return in one year.

Avenue Supermarts, the company operating the retail chain Dmart, has increased its consolidated net profit to Rs 659.58 crore in the second quarter of the financial year 2024-25. There has been an increase of 5.77% on annual basis. In the same quarter last year, the company had registered a net profit of Rs 623.56 crore.

The company has registered a consolidated revenue of Rs 14,444.50 crore in the July-September quarter. There has been an increase of 14.4% on annual basis. A year ago i.e. in July-September 2023, the company had earned Rs 12,624.37 crore.

4. Citroen Basalt India's safest coupe SUV: Got 4 star safety rating in India-NCAP crash test, got 35.90 points for child safety.

Citroen Basalt has become the safest coupe SUV in India. It has received a 4-star safety rating in adult and child protection categories in crash tests by the Bharat New Car Assessment Program (BNCAP or Bharat NCAP), which is applicable to all variants. In the crash test, the car scored 26.19 out of 32 points for adult safety and 35.90 out of 49 points for child safety.

The Basalt is the fifth vehicle and the first from Citroën to be tested at BNCAP. Earlier, crash test of Tata Safari, Harrier, Nexon and Punch has been done in Indian agency. All these Tata cars got 5 star safety rating in crash test.
