Arab Finance: Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation, and Stefan Radu Opera, Romanian Minister of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Tourism, chaired the meeting. The two ministers discussed mechanisms for developing Egyptian-Romanian relations that extend over decades, especially in light of economic developments at the regional and international levels, which require concerted joint efforts to support areas of development between the two countries, referring to the high-level visits exchanged between the two countries, which were represented by: The visit of the Romanian President to Egypt in 2021, his meeting with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and then the visit of the Romanian Prime Minister in 2023, which reflects the strength of partnerships and continuous coordination on the level of various issues, and the mutual keenness to open horizons of cooperation at all investment, commercial and economic levels in general.

The meeting also discussed ways of cooperation in the field of entrepreneurship, and in this regard, Dr. Rania Al-Mashat indicated the formation of the Ministerial Group for Entrepreneurship, which works to advance efforts to develop the emerging companies sector and create the business environment to become conducive to the growth of this vital sector.

During the committee’s work, 6 cooperation documents were signed, as Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation and head of the Egyptian side, signed with the Romanian side a memorandum of understanding in the field of investment between the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones and the Romanian Agency for Investment and Foreign Trade, and also signed a protocol. Fourth session of the Joint Committee.

The Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation also witnessed the signing of the executive action plan for a memorandum of understanding in the field of agriculture and land reclamation, a memorandum of understanding between the Small, Medium and Micro Enterprise Development Agency and the Romanian Ministry of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Tourism, a services agreement related to the installation of gas distribution pipelines, and an agreement to manufacture Specific individual products for the oil and gas industry between the Romanian Town Gas Company and the Egyptian CIS Gas Company.
