GP Accelerator starts and want to know your purpose.
Grameenphone always wants to move the society forward through various initiatives. Bangladesh is lagging behind in the way the global startup is moving forward. For the purpose of moving forward, our project began in the 21st. We want to create a platform for the talented people who are in technology. We can move forward in the challenges in the technical places in the country. It should be created with employment. It is said that the platform of young startup entrepreneurs is GP Accelerator.
How do you manage the project? From the selection period to the end, which steps do the contestants have to go?
GP is to participate in the Acillar through the application method. The various issues were then reviewed and 12 to 5 people were selected in the early stages. Next at the final stage got five to eight places. We go ahead with them. The final episode contestants get office, instructive and product in GP House, technology facilities, media support. In addition, Grameenphone has financial support from Grameenphone as well as investors.
The program has recently been started in different districts. Why did you feel the need?
Many are taking such initiatives in Dhaka. But no one was going out of Dhaka. The work that GP accelerator. We do 20 bootcamps with young entrepreneurs from 20 districts, which have recently been completed. We bring 20 to 5 people from each district. They are taught how to get from the idea to the prototype level. Then there was a competition with them and one selected and gave him a reward of Tk 1 lakh. The rest are offered different free courses.
For the purpose that GP Accelerator started, how much do you think it was implemented?
So far our overall condition is quite positive. 5 startups have been created from this project. There are about 1 lakh jobs. Some popular apps; Such services, iPages, parking and where are they emerged from this project. The purpose of the GP Accelerator for the purpose of the operation is now going on. Over time, the interest of young entrepreneurs is increasing. Because, we try to cooperate at the next time all of this project. If they want to be involved in a project, the door is always open.
What qualifications of the entrepreneur are considered in the selection?
First, whether the entrepreneur's will is strong or not, it is seriously seen. Then there is one who is giving full -time time with the business. Besides, an initiative cannot last long. With this, the initiative is also seen whether the entrepreneur's main source is the source of income. There are many members on the start team as well. Considering these issues, we choose the primary.
What are the future plans for GP Accelerator?
Our main goal was to create platforms and employment for young entrepreneurs. We think we got it. In addition, our new goal is to lift the marginalized talented of the country through this platform. 'Smart entrepreneur in the district' is a part of that plan. Hopefully, I can take it to a bigger stage.
