Malaysia gave good news, Croatia


About 5,000 workers of Bangladesh were expected to travel to Malaysia in the last year. They did not go due to various complications. Of these, the Malaysian government has told the Bangladesh High Commission in Kuala Lumpur that 5,900 will be able to go to the country in the first phase. Croatia has brought new doubts even though such good news from Malaysia about the foreign labor market. The country can stop granting job permits and visas for the citizens of Bangladesh. Such fears have been raised for the disadvantages of some Bangladeshis with recruiting agencies and staff visas.

Mohammad Rafiqul Alam, director general of the Foreign Ministry in Dhaka and Director General of the Publicity Policy Division, told reporters at a regular briefing on Monday that Bangladesh High Commissioner to Malaysia said. Shamim Ahsan told the country's Home Minister Saifuddin Ismail last December that the complexity of the departure of 4,000 workers was created.

Saifuddin advised the formation of a technical committee comprising the High Commission and the Malaysia Immigration Department to scrutinize the Bangladeshi staff. This committee held two meetings in the last one month. After the discussion with all the Malaysian authorities, the committee selected 4,000 out of 5,000 workers to go to the country in the first phase.

A spokesperson on the question of when and how these 3 thousand 5 workers can go to Malaysia – it is fixing the technical committee.

On the question of how these 4 thousand 5 workers were selected, a senior diplomat told today's newspaper that the workers who had a valid visa to Malaysia in March, April and May were taken on the list. In their government management, efforts are being made to get as low cost as possible through Boesel (Bangladesh Overseas Employment and Services Ltd.). No private recruiting agent will be added to this process.

Asked about what would happen to the 4,000 workers excluded among the 4,000 workers, the spokesperson said that if the departure of 3 thousand 5 people was finalized, the rest of the issues would be considered.

Meanwhile, the non -resident ambassador to Croatia Tarek Mohammad sent to the Foreign Ministry in a letter to Croatia's labor market.

In a letter sent on January 26, the ambassador said the embassy had found that the work permit and visas would no longer be issued for the citizens of Bangladesh due to the disadvantage of the recruiting agencies. According to the letter, in 2021, Croatia grants a job permit and visa to 12 thousand 5 citizens of Bangladesh. Of these, 3 thousand did not go to Croatia. Half of the remaining 4 thousand 5 people may be in the country. The European Union (EU) has strongly protested for illegally working illegally in other countries of Senzen in Croatia. The EU has also told the Croatia government to take steps to stop illegal immigration.

Ambassador Tarek Mohammad said that currently 3 to 5 thousand Bangladeshi Bangladeshi can be worked as workers in Croatia. Those who mainly do various things, including the construction sector, restaurant and supply of food. Work environment and salary for foreign workers in the country are better than many countries in Senzen. Still, after reaching Croatia, Bangladeshis moved to another country.

The ambassador also urged Croatia to send staff with Croatia on an urgent basis and sign an agreement to monitor the accessories. He also said that an agreement with the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare should be signed with Croatia on an urgent basis and surveillance on accessories.

It is to be noted that Bangladesh Ambassador to the Netherlands Tarek Mohammad Heg also served as the ambassador to Croatia.
