Political parties are trying to prove the government a failure: Nahid Islam

Information and Broadcasting Adviser Nahid Islam said that the political parties want the reform of the country to be under the political government. So they are trying to prove the failure of the current interim government. He said, not only that, political parties are giving more priority to elections instead of reforms.

Advisor Nahid Islam told him these things when former Social Development Minister of Chile Giorgio Jackson, a member of the British Global Partners Governance (GPG) delegation, asked about reforms and elections at the secretariat on Wednesday (December 11).

He said, after the popular uprising, a new political party will be formed, there is an expectation among the people. If that party succeeds, the incumbent political parties will face a challenge.

Nahid Islam said that the interim government took over in Bangladesh through a coup. This is a novel phenomenon, which has never happened before. I don't know if this has happened in any other country in the world. We are trying to work in such situations.

When Lord Jeremy Purvis, a former member of the Scottish Parliament, asked about the challenges of the interim government, Adviser Nahid said that our biggest challenge is to advance the reform program based on the law and order situation, economic problems, and compromise with the political parties. Moreover, establishing global connectivity is the main challenge of the interim government.

Nahid Islam said that various false propaganda is being carried out internationally, many people are not able to explain the uprising properly. People do not understand how such a great dictator fell in such a short time. As a result, various conspiracies are happening inside and outside the country. Misinformation is being spread about the persecution of minorities. Many are trying to deny that this movement is a democratic coup.

He also said that the human rights crisis has been going on in Bangladesh for a long time. People could not vote. Thousands of people have gone missing. The people of the country were in a state of suffocation. Therefore, protecting human rights is one of the main goals of the interim government.
