Nagrik Oikya President Mahmudur Rahman Manna strongly condemned and protested the uncivilized and barbaric behavior of Awami League leaders and activists with the interim government's legal advisor Professor Asif Nazrul at the Geneva airport in Switzerland.
In a statement signed by the party's organizing secretary Shakib Anwar on Friday (November 8), he said, 'Awami League's character has been exposed once again through this unethical, uncivilized behavior with Asif Nazrul.'
He said, 'Sheikh Hasina's 15-and-a-half-year dictatorial rule has turned Awami League into a barbaric, fascist party. Awami regime's looting accomplices are trying to destabilize the country by sitting abroad. Wanting to hurt the morale of the government and the people of the country. This behavior of the Awami Pandas with an advisor of the Bangladesh government who is on a state visit to Geneva is a reflection of that.
Manna demanded that those involved in the incident of harassment of Asif Nazrul at Geneva airport should be brought under the law and appropriate punishment should be given.
He said, 'Bangladesh Embassy in Switzerland and through diplomatic activities should take immediate action against those involved.' At the same time, he called upon the foreign missions to be more careful in terms of proper protocol and security of guests on state visits.
