Gold prices fell slightly


Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) has finally reduced the price of gold by increasing it several times in the country's market. The organization has announced a reduction of 1 thousand 365 taka in the fee. It will cost 1 lakh 42 thousand 161 taka for a load of 22 carat gold, which will be effective from tomorrow.

In a notification on Monday (November 4) evening, Bajus announced the reduction in gold prices.

According to the notification, the price of acid gold (pure gold) has decreased in the local market. As a result, the new price of gold has been fixed considering the overall situation. According to the new price, per bhari (11.664 grams) of 22 carat gold will cost Tk 1 lakh 42 thousand 161. Apart from this, the price of gold has been set at 1 lakh 35 thousand 699 taka per 21 carat, 1 lakh 16 thousand 313 taka per 18 carat and 95 thousand 575 taka per traditional method.

According to Bajus, the sale price of gold must be subject to government-mandated VAT of 5 per cent and Bajus-mandated minimum wage of 6 per cent. However, the wages may vary depending on the design and quality of the jewellery.

Earlier, last October 30, the organization had increased the price of 22 carat gold by 1 thousand 575 taka to 1 lakh 43 thousand 526 taka.
