The deadline is approaching, Bangladesh is taking quick measures to pay Adani's dues

Quoting a source, The Times of India reported that the Bangladesh Power Development Board wanted to issue a loan against the outstanding amount through Krishi Bank, but this move was not in accordance with the terms of the power purchase agreement. The report also mentions that the dollar crisis is one of the reasons.

Reuters has learned that last month Bangladeshi officials scrutinized the deal with Adani Power. Bangladesh has to pay 27 percent more for electricity produced by Adani than other private power plants in India.

In an earnings meeting last week, Adani Power Chief Financial Officer Dilip Kumar Jha said there is no issue in supplying power to Bangladesh. He said, 'We hope that the situation will not deteriorate any further due to arrears.'

The electricity supplied to Bangladesh from the Jharkhand hub costs Tk 10-12 (Rs 7-8.50) per unit. Electricity prices mainly depend on coal prices in Indonesia and Australia.
