Young man missing after boat sinks in Kurigram

A youth named Shaha Alam (18) has gone missing after his boat capsized in Holhalia river, a branch of Brahmaputra river in Roumari, Kurigram. One person was rescued alive in this incident.

The boat sinking incident took place on Sunday (September 15) at noon. Roumari Fire Service leader Abdul Alim said, we are working to rescue the missing youth.

The missing Shah Alam is the son of Rahmat Ali of Sakhipur area of ​​Gazipur. He came with his cousin Sajib to visit Nana Bari Roumari's Khanar Char Paschim Para.

Locals said that the missing Shah Alam and his cousin went on a canoe trip to the Holhalia river. The boat sank on the way back. Sajib was rescued alive but Shah Alam was nowhere to be found. On receiving information, Roumari and Jamalpur fire service personnel started rescue work in the river.
