In the recent Ranji Trophy, he played for Tripura and in his third match played a brilliant half-century and made an important contribution in taking the team to a big score. Yashasvi's Instagram story caught the attention of users and many fans came to know that both the brothers are professional cricketers. 27 year old Tejashwi made his debut in domestic cricket for Tripura in the second round of this season's Ranji Trophy.

Batting at number 3 in his debut match, Tejashwi scored 13 runs in 6 balls and hit three fours. In the second match against Mumbai, Tejashwi played 19 balls but could score only 4 runs. Batting at number 3 against Baroda, Tejashwi scored a brilliant 82 runs in which he faced 159 balls. Although he missed his first century, he hit 12 fours and 1 brilliant six during the innings.
