In the glamorous world of Bollywood, as colorful and glittering as the lives of stars seem, the reality is sometimes not that simple. Actress and presenter Neha Dhupia exemplifies how a comment early in a career can have a profound effect on an artist’s confidence.
Recently, in a chat with actress Huma Qureshi, Neha shared a bitter experience of her life. He said that he could not smile in front of the camera for almost 10 years due to a casting director’s comment.
According to Neha, during an audition early in her acting career, a renowned casting director told her, ‘Cabardar, don’t smile! Your smile is too wide.’
The actress admitted that the comment left a deep scar on her mind. He said, ‘That comment may have been very common to him, but it created a deep wound in my heart. I began to suffer from inferiority complex about myself.’
Just one comment slowly shakes his confidence. Neha said, after a long time, she began to believe that there was some kind of flaw in her smile.
In his words, ‘I stopped smiling in auditions, photo shoots and even in front of the camera for about 10 years. I used to think there might be something in my smile that people wouldn’t like.’
But with time, Neha overcame that mental barrier. Currently, he is quite popular among the audience for his lively smile, sense of humor and smooth presentation.
Recently, Neha appeared with husband Angad Bedi in a new chat show ‘Double Date’. The trailer of the show has already received a response from the audience. The show will feature chats, fun games and entertainment with Bollywood star couples and friends.
Talking about the show, Neha and Angad said that they wanted to create an environment where the guests can share their stories with ease. There will be no controversial or uncomfortable questions; Rather there will be joy, laughter and friendly moments.
