New Delhi. KC Venugopal, chairman of the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament (PAC), said that the huge increase in air fares in festivals and high demand time is not acceptable in any way. After visiting the Delhi Airport with members of the Parliamentary Committee, Venugopal also expressed concern over the increase in the user development fee (UDF) to be taken at the airports.
He said that the Parliamentary Committee would conduct a thorough investigation into the issue. Apart from the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA), members of the committee also visited the Kherki Daula Toll Plaza and Dwarka Expressway in the national capital and interacted with the officials concerned. Venugopal said in a conversation with PTI video after the airport visit, “The most important issue we raised are about excessive increase in ticket rates during festivals and high demand which are not acceptable at all.” The DGCA must control it.
