Ukraine is working on developing an air defense system to counter the 'new threat' posed by Russia's deployment of new intermediate-range missiles. This is what Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in a video address on Friday (November 22). British news agency Reuters reported this news.
Testing new weapons for war purposes in another country is an 'international crime', Zelensky said.
He called for a 'serious response' worldwide to prevent Russia from escalating the war.
“For my part, the Defense Minister of Ukraine is already meeting with our partners on new air defense systems that will be able to protect lives from new threats,” Zelenskyy said.
Along with that, he urged Ukrainians to be careful in the face of the continuous threat of Russian attack.
Zelensky said there is no alternative to war. We must be aware that Russian President Vladimir Putin will continue to try to intimidate us. This is how he developed all his powers.
He added that the world must come up with a “serious response” so that Putin is truly afraid of escalating the war and feels the real consequences of his actions.
Russia launched a new type of hypersonic missile in Ukraine's Dnipro region on Thursday in a 33-month war. At the same time, Putin has promised to carry out more tests of the missile in the battlefield.
