Donald Trump is on the way to reinstate the old sanctions after coming to power for the second term as the President of the United States. It is believed that this time too he is on the path of imposing a travel ban on Arab and Muslim countries. Human rights organizations are concerned about an order he issued after he was sworn in as president on Monday.
Meanwhile, Trump is going to be tougher day by day on illegal immigration and refugees. He has taken the initiative to send 1,500 troops, aircraft and helicopters to the border of Mexico. Apart from this, he plans to send 10,000 troops to help prevent illegal entry through this border.
Concern about Muslim countries
According to news agency Reuters, Trump signed an order on the first day of taking office. The order states that the United States will be protected from foreign terrorist, other national security and public safety threats. A time limit of 60 days has been fixed for this. The U.S. Department of State, Intelligence, Justice, and Homeland Security will look for loopholes that pose a threat to the country if citizens of any country enter the United States.
The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) followed this order. They say that Trump signed this order to impose sanctions on Muslim and Arab countries again.
Trump first came to power in 2017. It was only after Seva's order that the ban on Muslim and Arab countries was legalized by the authorities. According to ADC, based on the order signed by Trump, many visa applications have been canceled and many people have been deported from the country. However, ADC has launched a hotline so that no one falls victim to this situation.
10,000 troops deployed
Last Wednesday, White House press secretary Carolyn Levitt said the president signed an executive order to deploy 1,500 troops to the southern border. These troops will be deployed in San Diego, California and El Paso, Texas. There are already 2,500 troops on the border.
However, citing official documents, US media CBS News reported that Trump has accepted the plan to deploy 10,000 troops on the US-Mexico border. In addition, he plans to use US Defense Department bases as 'sanctuary centers' to deport immigrants. The Customs and Border Protection (CBP) document is dated January 21, a day after Trump was sworn in.
