The Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) building in Paltan will be raised from 6 floors to 10 floors. This decision was taken in the executive committee meeting of BOA held in Cox's Bazar on Saturday. The meeting was presided over by BOA President and Bangladesh Army Chief General Waqar-uz-Zaman.
After the meeting, Director General of BOA, Brigadier General M Shamch A Khan, said in a circular that a plan has been presented by the Bangladesh Army in view of the initial decision to upgrade the 6-storey building of BOA to 10 floors. It has been decided to implement the project after verifying the economic survey.
In the meeting, a budget of Tk 58.30 crore for participation in international competitions and organization of Bangladesh Games and Tk 15 crore for running the overall activities of BOA was approved in the financial year 2024-25.
A design by the Bangladesh Army was presented in the meeting regarding the construction of an Olympic complex with international sports competitions and advanced training.
