Syria cannot afford another decade of massacres

When leaders meet there, some important issues for humanitarian diplomacy and mediation should be kept in mind.

The safety of the common man should be the highest priority in any discussion. Although the HTS is a controversial and extremist organization, it has tried to follow the rules of war in some cases (such as giving warnings before launching an attack). However, such efforts are usually fleeting and HTS does not usually discuss humanitarian diplomacy much.

Good thing though, they are now taking some initiative to protect the rights of minorities and are willing to negotiate with other groups to reduce the bloodshed.

This highlights the urgent need for communication with HTS and the Assad regime. Communication, even on the smallest scale, is necessary to ensure that they comply with international humanitarian law and the rules of war.

These efforts should focus on reducing civilian casualties, keeping humanitarian access routes safe and ensuring basic security in war-torn areas. Without communication, violence can escalate.

Although full mediation requires the cooperation of many countries; But first it is important to start the discussion with the protection of the general public. It will be possible to solve the humanitarian crisis.

At the same time multilateral mediation is needed to resolve major fundamental issues. But the Turkey-Russia-led 'Astana Process' (the 'Astana Process' is a diplomatic initiative launched by Turkey, Russia and Iran to resolve the Syrian crisis. It has been known as such since the first meeting was held in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan in 2017) to deal with the changing situation. Does not seem appropriate to do.
