The government decided to increase the price to resolve the chaos caused by soybean oil in the market. This increases the price of oil by eight rupees per liter. Simultaneously three decisions were taken to implement this price increase. However, no effective result of this decision of the government has been found in the market. Consumers and retailers are still suffering from the shortage of soybean oil.
Retailers say, we are not getting oil even with orders and advance money. Companies don't give oil if other products are not bought with oil. Similar complaints have been received from the customer level as well. They say, if you visit ten shops, you get oil in one shop. Some charge more. And no one is selling unless they buy other products.
On Friday (December 20), this information was obtained by visiting the raw market and grocery stores of Mirpur 1 and 2 of the capital.
Soybean oil shortage has been going on for almost a month now. At that time, buyers and retailers speculated that oil prices may be going up. On December 9, the government decided to increase the price of oil, proving their assumption to be true. This has increased the price of open and bottled soybean oil by eight rupees per liter. According to the decision, the price of bottled soybean oil has been increased to Tk 175 per liter and the price of open soybean oil to Tk 157.
Meanwhile, after increasing the price, old price oil is available in the market. But now no new or old oil of any value is available. Retailers who are receiving, are also getting soybean oil in exchange for buying other products.
